CINEMA CYCLE "NO MORE REALITY": "Zabriskie Point" by Michelangelo Antonioni
19 JUN 2016
The work of Michelangelo Antonioni knew how to translate the palpitations of its present, inscribing the invalidation of the world's explanation systems and the despair of the people at the evolution of societies that would guide the ideological ruptures generalized in the sixties. Zabriskie Point (1970) is an exceptional portrait of the end of the sixties in USA, and of the context of their youth movement of counter-culture, telling the story of two young fugitives of the system: he for allegedly murdering a police, she for having found him in the way. With an original soundtrack signed by Pink Floyd, Zabriskie Point is the first film directed by Antonioni in the USA, staking out as one of its most scathing and incisive works.
