0503 SERRALVES NO FESTIVAL DDD-DIAS DA DANÇA
Alicja Hoppel

Æffective Choreography investigates structures, politics and practices of intimacy. The tone and tempo are calibrated with softness and slowness, and the performers create a texture of sharing rather than display. The membrane that separates public and private dissolves as they allow themselves to be witnessed in practices reserved for the intimate sphere, narratives of autobiographical stories and gestures that reveal the body in its radicality. The tempo of the performance is intentionally slow so that the emergence of intimacy can be gradual, as is the choreography, which blurs the landscape that distinguishes the body of the performance and the audience.
