Serralves Bookshop welcomes the third session of Story Time, inviting children and families on a magical journey with the book "Transparente", published by Livros Horizonte and presented by its author-illustrator, Mariana Rio.
Part of the BioBlitz 2025 programme, this special session joins a weekend dedicated to biodiversity and sustainability.
This marks the third session of a series of monthly gatherings that invite children and families to immerse themselves in the world of books. Each session becomes an engaging experience where stories, whether read or told, come to life through imagination.
A man sets out to explore an unlikely natural place and plunges into a mystery that seems never-ending… until he is unexpectedly surprised.
This picture book is a powerful reflection on the discovery of true friendship. It is through transparency that we truly see one another.
"Transparente" marks Mariana Rio’s debut as a writer-illustrator, released in 2024. The story follows the unexpected encounter between a man, entirely absorbed in his imagination and studies, and a being who initially seems completely different. This connection, both disarming and transformative, sets him on a journey of self-discovery that leads to something even greater.
📌 Sign up now! Admission is free but subject to venue capacity. Each registration in the form corresponds to a single participant.
Throughout 2025, once a month, children and families are invited to attend Story Time at the Serralves Bookshop, always on Saturdays at 4:00 PM. More than just listening to a story, it is an interactive moment where words gain voice and movement. Each session takes young readers and their families on new journeys, sparking creativity and fostering a love for reading.
