Tobias Koch’s site-specific performances articulate the varying unseen auditory connections between space and sound. Koch’s digitally rendered compositions become amplified by the surrounding acoustic frequencies or architectural matter and are developed in a series of live instrumentations by the artist. The audience's perception shifts between listening and understanding the tangible spatial dimensions of the space throughout the performance’s duration. Leveraging improvisational techniques, he brings a musical focus to the physical environment in which the performance takes place. His approach results in a score that is distinctly anchored in a heightened visceral experience, shared by both Koch and the audience.
