A self-portrait, not an autobiography, like Godard always adverted to. In JLG/JLG, Jean-Luc Godard films himself during his “exile” in Switzerland, using film quotes, comments or silences to reflect and ruminate on his childhood, art and life. The self-portrait is both beautiful and lonely, intense and elegiac: four filmic elements that remain useful in the cinematic translation of his world vision.

Iter is a portrait of Jean-Luc Godard and his audiovisual sensibility, directed by Othello Vilgard on the occasion of Godard's exhibition in Nanterre.  Taking a unique look at the exhibition space, the filmmaker's works and their relationship with the place where they were shown, Vilgard establishes this multiple dialogue through the extreme demultiplication of two classical tools of cinema - the split screen and the scroll.
