Identificación was presented in 1975, Barcelona, in an international meeting of semi-clandestine art and culture against the then remnants of Francoism.

The performance is creatively the sum and the questioning of a disturbed personal phase, lived in the colonial war in Angola and simultaneously in a liberated Portugal. A whirlwind of events, a few traumatic (war in the forest and urban/Luanda, liberating drugs, deaths and cripples), placed aesthetically, discursively and visually in ruptures, dismemberments. perceptible or not.

The title Identificación was ─ and it is today ─ also a tribute to the people of Catalonia.

REACTING TO TIME ─ Portuguese in the performance is the public presentation of the result of the homonymous teaching, promoted by the artist Vânia Rovisco, and focused on an archaeology and research work of the live arts developed by the first national performers.

In the years surrounding the Revolution of April 25, 1974, a particular dynamic guided the Portuguese artistic activity. A series of events brought Portugal into tune with the issues and with some of the practices that enlivened the international artistic avant-garde. Between 1972 and 1985, performance was inscribed in the fabric of Portuguese art history and in this period of time, Albuquerque Mendes, Fernando Azevedo, João Dixo, Artur Barrio, Gerardo Burmester, Miguel Yeco, Silvestre Pestana, Elisabete Mileu, Manoel Barbosa, Fernando Aguiar, António Olaio, São Pestana, Rui Órfão and Alberto Carneiro, defined the coordinates of a Portuguese performative body.

REACTING TO TIME ─ Portuguese in performance tries to update the specificity of the body memory of these first experiences. Accessing to the origin of this information, updating it by transmitting directly the experience and presenting it visibly are the objectives of this project.
