From the perspective of gallery owner and collector Mário Teixeira da Silva (Porto, 1947-2023, Lisbon), works of art should promote reflection and research on the part of the user. Analysed in its most diverse aspects, it would allow for the construction of a comprehensive vision of the works and their creators. It is in this context that it can be assumed that Mário Teixeira da Silva sees himself in the creative process of many of the artists represented in his collection, particularly in the paradigmatic case of Contemporary Song (1984), by Franz Erhard Walther (1939, Fulda, Germany), which gives this exhibition its title.

In this visit, Marta Moreira de Almeida, the exhibition's curator, proposes exploring selected works from the exhibition to compose a musical score.
