The conversation between architects Carlos Castanheira and Inês Lobo will be dedicated to the multiple museum projects of Álvaro Siza. Carlos Castanheira, curator of the exhibitions Álvaro Siza: On Display (2005) and Orient Express (2020), alongside the deposit of his considerable archive at the Serralves Foundation, will focus on their most recent co-authorships in Asia. Inês Lobo, curator of the Portuguese representation at the 13th Venice Architecture Biennale, where she received the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement (2012) on behalf of Álvaro Siza, will emphasize the relations he created between Porto and Lisbon, from the Chiado neighbourhood to the Expo’98.
Moderated by architect António Choupina, this conversation will combine impressions and dialogues about the current expansion of the Serralves Foundation’s building complex. The Naked Architecture programming, talks and tours, will continue to take place in the Álvaro Siza Wing throughout 2023, until the opening of the Collection Exhibitions in the beginning of 2024.
