TRISTAN PERICH

Tristan Perich (b. 1982, New York) is an electronic musician, composer and visual artist inspired by the aesthetic simplicity of math, physics and code. He is also influenced by the work of American composers and artists of the Minimalist movement of the 1960s who used strict patterns and processes. Perich is the creator of the first album ever published in the form of a microchip, titled 1-BIT Music (2004), which later would lead to 1-Bit Symphony (2010). His interest in the physical and material qualities of code is paired with traditional artistic forms, leading to works where systems resorting to the rawest digital machinery cross with a tuned sense of lyricism.
Perich’s music and visual art have been presented around the world, from Sonar and Ars Electronica to the Museum of Modern Art in New York and bitforms gallery.
